Are you looking for the best restaurants in Alamogordo? Then I got you covered!
Alamogordo is a great town in New Mexico, located right next to the White Sands National Park.
The town has a lot of great dining options, so it can be hard to choose where to go. Especially the hidden-gem places are hard to find.
I have lived in town for a while, and we tried out every restaurant there is in the city.
So this post will give you our ranking for the best places to eat in Alamogordo, NM.
Let’s get to it!
Best Restaurants in Alamogordo: At a Glance
Best Authentic Restaurant: CJ’s Si Senor
Best Fine Dining: D.H. Les Combes Bistro and Winery
Best Lunch: Plateau Espresso
Best Breakfast: IHOP
1. CJ’s Si Senor
2300 N White Sands Blvd, Alamogordo, NM 88310
CJ’s Si Senor is the go-to place for most locals. This fantastic Mexican Restaurant has been there for over 40 years if you can believe it.
There is a line outside every single evening, but the food is worth the wait. I have never eaten better Mexican food anywhere else.
Make sure to try their fantastic mixed plates – this way you can try a few bites of everything. And of course, you need to sip a frozen Margarita with your food!
2. D.H. Lescombes Bistro & Winery
261 Panorama Blvd, Alamogordo, NM 88310
D.H. Lescombes Bistro & Winery is without a doubt the fanciest restaurant in town. They offer fine dining, with a New Mexican twist.
The Lescombes family has a super long history of winemaking, and are originally from Burgundy, France. The restaurant definitely has French charm, without neglecting the New Mexican surroundings.
They have a couple of different locations all over New Mexico. Of course, we love the restaurant in Alamogordo, because we live basically next door.
Of course, you have to try one of their wines! We love the Pasta New Mexico and the Southwest Meatloaf – make sure to try those.
Sabrina’s Tip: make a reservation, they get super busy!
3. Thai Cuisine
604 E 1st St, Alamogordo, NM 88310
Thai Cuisine is another one of our favorite restaurants in Alamogordo. The interior of the restaurant is down-to-earth and quirky, and the staff is super friendly.
All of their dishes are authentic and super popular among locals. You can either dine in or get take-out, whatever you feel like.
Our favorite dishes are definitely the authentic curries, even though they can be pretty spicey. Make sure to also try the dumplings!
They give military discounts, which we always appreciate.
4. Johnny Carino’s Italian Restaurant
260 Panorama Blvd, Alamogordo, NM 88310
If you are looking for some delicious Italian food, you should check out Carino’s restaurant in Alamogordo.
They have delicious create-your-own-pasta dishes, pizza, and other Italian delights. As someone who has visited Italy many times, I confess it is more American-Italian. However, it is still super delicious.
Check out their changing specials for some delicious treats, we usually find something great there.
Sabrina’s Tip: head over there on Wednesdays – they run a wine special.
5. Pizza Patio
2203 E 1st St, Alamogordo, NM 88310
I am obsessed with Pizza Patio for two reasons: the food is awesome and they have nice outdoor seating!
I think this is definitely the best pizza restaurant in Alamogordo, so you should definitely hop by. The service is great and everyone is super friendly.
Make sure to try their special Pizza Alfredo (it is awesome and totally unique).
6. Plateau Espresso
2724 N Scenic Dr, Alamogordo, NM 88310
Plateau Espresso is another one of my favorite Alamogordo restaurants. I love everything about it, except the fact that they don’t serve dinner.
It is located in a super beautiful spot, overlooking the entire valley. You can even sit outside on a terrace if it is warm enough.
They serve delicious sandwiches and sweet delights for breakfast and lunch. My favorite is the Chicken-Portobello for sure.
7. La Hacienda – Mexican Restaurant
804 N White Sands Blvd, Alamogordo, NM 88310
La Hacienda is another one of our favorite Mexican restaurants in Alamogordo. The interior is a little less cheerful than at Si Senors, but the food is just as great.
The owners are super friendly and the prices are amazingly affordable. All in all, we had lovely experiences there and can totally recommend it!
Try the burritos, they are awesome (although a little spicey!)
8. The 19th Hole Grill and Bar
2351 Hamilton Rd, Alamogordo, NM 88310
This Alamogordo restaurant is a bit of a hidden gem that mostly locals know about. It is located a bit outside of the city center, at the local Desert Lakes Golf Course.
We hopped in there based on a recommendation, and we were not disappointed. We ate super delicious burritos for lunch, at a fabulous price.
This is a great spot for breakfast, lunch and dinner! You can even order breakfast all day – how fun is that!
9. Caliche’s Frozen Custard
2251 N White Sands Blvd #6139, Alamogordo, NM 88310
Caliche’s is the best place in Alamogordo if you are craving dessert or ice cream. They have everything from frozen custard to delicious sundaes.
This place gets super popular on warm and sunny days – but you can also take your ice cream to go. They do have a couple of outdoor seating spots, but not too many.
Make sure to try the strawberry shortcake sundae – it is delicious. Some people love the green chile (typical New Mexican) sundae, but I am not a huge fan.
10. IHOP
1413 S White Sands Blvd, Alamogordo, NM 88310
Even though IHOP is a chain restaurant, it is still our favorite breakfast spot in Alamogordo. We literally go there every Sunday morning.
IHOP has the most delicious pancakes, waffles, and egg dishes. There is no breakfast dish that is not on the menu there.
Plus, the service is always super friendly and the atmosphere is nice. It is definitely something you need to check out.
Our favorite dish is the breakfast burrito for sure!

For lunch, hop by the 19th hole at the golf course or Plateau Espresso for a great view.
